Russell E Westman, 91 of Laguna Woods CA, passed away April 15th, 2026, at UCI Hospital in Fountain Valley. Born in New Britain CT, son of the late Carl and Getrude Hasselmark Westman, he lived in Southern CA most of his life. Russ was a graduate of New Britain High School and served with the US Navy. He enjoyed a long career in the computer industry. Russ' longtime interests included photography, cheering on Notre Dame football and UCONN basketball, travel (especially cruises) and spending time with his family.

Russ is survived by his former wife, Donna Marrone, with whom he shared two children, Kathleen Pasqua of Tustin, California, and Danny Westman of Ventura, California. He later married Doreen Westman who he was married for almost 40 years, and embraced his role as stepfather to Mike Caldwell, John Caldwell, Denise Lehr, and Donna Caldwell.

He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren—Taylor, Austin, Will, Nichelle, Jennifer, and Jesse—and was also blessed with several great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Russ was preceded in death by his brothers, George and Bob Westman.

Funeral services with military honors are Thursday 5/14 at 11:15 AM at Veterans National Cemetery in Riverside CA
