Rutherford, Roy Palmer, passed away on May 11, 2013.

Roy was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on July 13, 1929, to Thomas Rutherford and Ivy Palmer. He married Erma Elaine Muir August 29, 1952, and moved to the United States with his young family in 1966. Roy raised his family in Lakewood, Colorado, and provided for them through his job as a mine safety inspector for the US Government, from which he retired in 1994. In 2000 Roy and Erma relocated to Southern California where they enjoyed spending time together at the beach and attending church functions.

Roy is survived by his wife, Erma, his daughter Cheryl (Ralph Escojito), and sons Norman (Marilyn) and Thomas (Jennifer). He was also blessed with a granddaughter, Sarah, whom he treasured.

A service and celebration of his life will be held at the Antonio building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, on May 17, 2013, at 12:30.
