Obituary
Rosean Berniece Maricondo
September 6, 1952 – February 11, 2025
Rosean Berniece Maricondo passed away on February 11, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 6, 1952, in Long Beach, California, Rosean spent most of her life in various cities throughout Orange County, CA, where she built a life full of love, kindness, and generosity.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, James Maricondo. Rosean is survived by her four children, Jeanette McCray, Natalie McCray, David Maricondo, and Gina Kersten. She is also deeply loved and remembered as Nana by her grandchildren: Brianne Burke, Kyle Burke, Ryan Burke, Lily Kersten, Frenkie Kersten, and her great-grandchild, Aiden Humphrey.
Rosean was known for her warm smile, her welcoming nature, and her ability to make everyone feel like family. Her passion for life and love for others extended beyond her immediate family. She was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a loyal friend and neighbor. Her love for animals was evident in all aspects of her life, and she shared this joy with everyone around her.
Rosean worked with dedication in the moving industry, spending much of her career at Nelson Moving and Storage in Lake Forest. Upon retirement, she embraced new hobbies and interests, from playing pickleball and hosting Bunco nights with friends, to enjoying card games and traveling with her loved ones. She found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and was proud to be a part of their lives.
Rosean was a committed member of the Assistance League of Capistrano Valley, where she volunteered at the Bargain Box and helped organize events for the local community. She also made a lasting impact in her Gavilan neighborhood in Rancho Mission Viejo, where she planned countless activities and gatherings, bringing people together with her warmth and enthusiasm.
Her presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness, joy, and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rosean was a fabulous friend and neighbor. Whether happily chatting with neighbors when she was out walking her dogs, or organizing one of many fun Gavilan events, Rosean was a ray of sunshine in the Rancho Mission Viejo community.
I will always fondly remember how much much fun we had playing pickleball. Rosean was an amazing player and she had so much patience teaching me how to play. Ever the welcoming person, she introduced me to a wonderful group of ladies to play pickleball with – we had so much fun and so many laughs!
Sending my deepest sympathies to all of Rosean’s family and loved ones – she will be greatly missed!
Sincerely, Mary Nickles

Rosean was one of the first people I met when we first moved to RMV. She was so kind, funny, and sweet person and she made me feel so welcome. I will truly miss seeing her out walking her dog Dino. Rest in peace Rosean. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family.
