Rose Pigneri (nee Sicilia) beloved wife of the late James S. Pigneri passed away peacefully at her home in Tustin, CA on July 9, 2023 at the age of 92.  Rose was born on June 18, 1931 in Terravecchia, Italy to Robert Sicilia and Rosa DeBartolo.  She came to the U.S. when she was 16 years old and resided in Detroit, MI until she met the love of her life, James S. Pigneri.  She moved to Des Moines, IA and was married on May 2, 1954.  She was a homemaker and she always praised her greatest achievement of raising 5 children.  Rose was also passionate about sewing, and when her children were grown, she worked as a seamstress.  She also loved to crochet and traveling with her family.

She is the loving mother of Josephine Ryan (Rodger A.), Rose Mary Briscoe (Paul), James T. Pigneri, Robert Pigneri (Denise) and Paul A. Pigneri.  Rose has been blessed with 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her sister Tomasina and brothers Pasquale and Vincent.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 51 Marketplace, Irvine, CA on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 12 noon.  Rosary will be said at 11:30 am.  Reception to follow after burial.  Flowers can be sent to O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA.
