Rosalind passed away peacefully at home on Sunday morning on March 1st at the age of 83. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She was known as Roz to most people she knew.

Roz shared a beautiful 57-year marriage with her devoted husband, Hilly. Their love story began when he was a graduate student at Rutgers University and she was working as a secretary. She would ask him to play tennis, and he thought she simply wanted a partner on the court. Eventually he realized she wanted much more. They built a life together rooted in deep love, respect and partnership.

After marriage they moved to Connecticut for Hilly to pursue a PhD degree at the University of Connecticut. They were there 5 years with Roz providing most of the income to support them as a secretary, and needless to say huge amounts of day-to-day support and guidance that was needed for success. She earned that degree as much as he did. While there they welcomed their wonderful daughter, Tina.

They then moved to Virginia for two and a half years following Hilly getting a job with the Dept of Agriculture in Washington, DC. These were very important formative years for Tina, with Roz totally immersed in her upbringing and home activities.

They later returned to New Jersey, where they lived in the same home in East Brunswick for 49 years. Their marriage was a true partnership and a rare example of soulmates. With Hilly working in New York City most of this time, Roz worked so very hard at being a wonderful mother to Tina and her friends, handling all the household chores, being the finance person of the family, planning and scheduling virtually everything they did, and working full time as a legal secretary. She also had an unbelievable memory and a deep understanding of people and life such that family and non-family members would seek her advice.

When Hilly retired in 2009, they became nearly inseparable, always together and always doing the small things for one another. Their love was steady, tender, and enduring, a love many hope for but few are fortunate enough to experience. Over the following years her health faltered with severe back problems, COPD, and arthritis. But, with all this pain and physical disability she continued to pursue all of her home and social activities without complaint. Truly amazing.

In December 2025, Roz and Hilly moved to California to live with their daughter Tina and grandsons, Trevor (22) and Aiden (19). After living far away for so long and missing much of the boys' childhood, being close to them meant so much. While their time together in California was shorter than anyone hoped, those final two months spent with family were deeply meaningful and cherished.

Roz treasured every moment with her grandsons. She loved listening to them talk about the things they were passionate about and always made time for them. She worried about and loved her daughter and grandsons so very much.

Roz was known by those who knew her as classy, kind, and beautifully put together. She took pride in her appearance, her hair always fixed and her makeup on whether she was going out or staying home. She carried herself with grace and warmth, and people were naturally drawn to her gentle spirit. She quietly supported Hilly during his more than 10 years as president of their local AARP chapter in New Jersey, serving faithfully behind the scenes. Together, they built lasting friendships and touched many lives.

Roz leaves behind her beloved husband, Hilly; her devoted daughter, Tina; her cherished grandsons, Trevor and Aiden; her brother, Michael, and his wife, Marie; and many dear family and friends whose lives were blessed by her kindness and beautiful soul.

A viewing will be held on March 11 at 4:00 PM at O'Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, California.

Roz will be laid to rest on March 12 at 12:00 PM at Ascension Cemetery, 24754 Trabuco Road, Lake Forest, California.

Her family finds comfort in knowing she experienced a deep and extraordinary love, and that she knew just how profoundly she was loved in return.

She will be remembered for her kindness, elegance, and the deep love she had for her family.
