Ronald J. Truman

Ronald J Truman passed away March 23, 2014 in the arms of his loving wife. Ron was born on April 20, 1938 in Argonne, South Dakota to Glenn and Maude (Messmore) Truman. He married the love of his life Joan on March 9, 1968, in Illinois. They resided in the Chicago area until their move to California in 1980.

Ron had a great love of basketball and one of his dreams and proudest moments was winning the State Basketball Championship and playing for coach, Ron Freemole, his senior year of High School in Howard, South Dakota.

After leaving college, Ron moved to Illinois and worked in the furniture industry in Quality Control. He and Joan moved to California in 1980 and he continued in the furniture industry as Quality Control Manager, retiring from GuildCraft of California in July 2006.

He loved living in California, loved the ocean and loved running on the beach as much as possible. He also loved to travel but was the happiest when he was at home.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, one brother Dick and sister-in- law Jean Truman of Cumming, Georgia, sister-in-law Gloria Faye Truman, Howard, South Dakota and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Roger, Sisters, Sadie Tanksley, Gloria Long, June Truman and Lois Truman.
