Ronald Gregory Burton was born on April 29, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas to Bennye V. Burton and the late Samuel R. Burton. He was the second of two children.

The family migrated to Pomona, California in 1961, and later settled in the city of Claremont. At an early age, Ron confessed Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior.

Ron attended schools in Chino Unified School District, and was a graduate of Claremont High School, Class of 1970, where he participated in basketball and track and field. Upon high school graduation, Ron attended Citrus College in Azusa, California, where he received an Associate Degree in Science.

After moving to South Orange County in 1980, Ron met Pamela Tucker and they married on November 20, 1982. To their union, three sons were born, Philip Gregory, Daniel Louis, and James Edward. Ron and Pamela made their home in Laguna Hills, California, raising their three sons, and enjoying family vacations and school sports.

Ron was employed as an Optical Engineer at the TRW Capistrano Test Site in San Clemente, and retired from Northrop Grumman Aerospace in Redondo Beach in 2011. He was highly regarded at all his places of employment. After retirement, Ron devoted his time to family, church, and his passion for astrophotography and videography. He was a devoted member of Second Baptist Church, Santa Ana, and attended services at the Irvine Campus.

Ron served on the Executive Board of A Touch of Love Works as the Director of Audio/Visual Communications.
