  1. I will miss my uncle Roger. He was a man that lived life with great zest and vigour. He made me so welcome on my travels and always had a smile, laugh and a joke to tell me. I know that Roger touched many people”°Ã¢”šÂ¬Ã¢”žÂ¢s lives and we will always remember him with much love. My thoughts are with my family in the USA, much love to you all. Andrew, Della and Natalia.

Hi Roger – “For a Northerner a very very special mate” – a dear and brave life long friend, best man and God father to Jason, my son. We shared and enjoyed life to the full and the family and I will miss you. Thanks for your good humour, the many great memories and the unconquerable spirit all of which will always be with me. God’s peace my friend and look forward to seeing you again sometime.
I am sorry we can not join you at the service GiselÃΩ but our love, sincere thoughts and deepest feelings will be with you, Alex, Melissa and the children on Wednesday and in the future.

Whenever I think about Roger, I smile…He always made me laugh and at the same time feel warm and that there was no other place I would rather be than in his company. All of my family and friends heard “Roger” stories and jokes and looked forward to hearing them.
His heart was big and full and I will carry him in my heart forever. I will look forward to seeing him again one day and listen to his jokes and stories and laugh and know once again that there is no other place that I would rather be.
There are very few people that we meet in life that make a true impact, Roger was one of them.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Alex and Gisele and the rest of his family and friends. I know he will be truly missed. He was one of the good ones.
Love to you Roger, have a great time up there!
    Always ,
    Nancy Byron

I will miss Roger with his wonderful sense of humor and easy going personality tremendously. What a great loss to us all. We solute not your death, dear Roger, but your new life. I would like to dedicate the following poem by Federicka Williams to Roger.

    God’s Garden

God looked around his garden and he found an empty place,
He looked on earth and he saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw the road was rough, and the hills were hard to climb,
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered “peace be thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

    Roger
Cherished are the memories of times shared. Fishing way out in the stormy English Channel. Sking in Italy. The toboggan race that we won against the odds, but at the expense of your fractured ribs, and so many many more, but above all the countless jokes and stories shared. Always great company. Farewell old friend.

Our deepest sympathy to Gisele Alex and family, Our thoughts are with you all.

    Love Phil and Barbara Chapman
