Obituary

Roger Lind Foss of La Quinta, California passed away on April 25, 2026 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. Roger was born on May 5, 1949 in Rockford, Illinois to parents Eugene and Emogene Foss. After graduating from Harlem High School in 1967, Roger attended Western Illinois University where he received a B.S. in Industrial Education in 1971. After graduation, Roger taught industrial arts and automotive repair for several years at the high school level. A career change led him to the automotive technical service industry where he worked for Jeep/American Motors Corporation and later as a National Manager at Toyota Motor Sales, USA. Roger retired in 2011 after an accomplished and fulfilling 26-year career at Toyota.

Roger was a devoted, hard-working, and loyal husband, father, and grandfather who dearly loved his family. He enjoyed golf, cooking, wine, time at the family cabin in Big Bear Lake (California), the Green Bay Packers, projects around the house, visits with family and friends, and supporting his grandkids in their sports and other activities.

Roger is survived by his best friend and beloved wife of 56 years, Connie, who he began dating in middle school and who he credits with helping him become the best version of himself. Roger is also survived by his mother, Emogene; his brother, David; his son Joe (Cara) and daughter Lindsay (Jeremiah); his nephews, Chris (Dana) and Tyler (Rebecca); seven grandchildren (Cooper, Carter, Ayden, Crew, Zoe, Maddix, and Ridge); granddaughters-in-law, Alyssa and Jacque; and his favorite four-legged companion, Millie. Roger will be remembered by all who loved him and will continue to be an influence in their lives.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at O’Connor Mortuary, located at 25301 Alicia Pkwy., Laguna Hills, CA 92653. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Roger’s name to the City of Hope’s cancer research efforts (https://ourhope.cityofhope.org/give/286522/#!/donation/checkout).
