Obituary
Robert ?Bob? Zaragoza Fernandez, 49, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 1, 2004 in Laguna Hills, California. Bob was born in Manila, Philippines and moved to the United States with his family in 1969. He was a 1973 graduate of Dover High School in Dover, Delaware and earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton in Ohio in 1980. Most recently, he was a Senior Engineer at Honeywell Aerospace Electronic System Division.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred de Guzman, daughter Merissa, 10 years old, and his sons Ryan, 9 and Jourden, 18. He is also survived by his parents, Pete and Nelly Fernandez, of Dover, Delaware, brothers, Edgar of Salisbury, Maryland and Rick of Nice, France and sister Vicky Yaholkovsky of Rocklin, California.
Bob was an avid music fan – in particular jazz – and most specially enjoyed playing the piano. He loved everything about food: from cooking, to indulging in the pleasures of the table, and, to rhapsodizing about it. A travel enthusiast, Bob collected arts and crafts from around the globe, and had just recently returned from a 3-week holiday with his family in France and Italy.
Bob was a loving father, a devoted husband, a loyal, committed and caring brother and uncle, and a wonderful son. He will be missed greatly by those whom he has touched.

Dear Mildred, Merissa, Ryan, Jourden, family members and friends,
Jerry de Guzman is a good friend of mine.
I am very sorry to hear about Bob’s passing away at such a young age and full of enthusiasm for life, his family and friends, his travels, his music… so noticeable when one visits your endearing photo gallery, on this website.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathy and condolences.
I hope that the good memories of your time spent with Bob will comfort you all in times of sorrow.

Dear Mildred,
Our deepest sympathy. At this time of sorrow, there is little one can say. For only time can comfort you when loved ones pass away. So may the time be hastened until sorrow will depart, and memories of happy times live on within your heart.

I would like to extend my condolences and regrets to Mildred, Bob’s children and the rest of Bob’s family for his untimely death. We will all miss him terribly.
I first met Bob in the late 1980’s in Dallas, Texas. I had already known Mildred before that from our close group of friends in Dallas. I got to be good friends with Bob and spent quite a bit of time together, as with the rest of our group, for the time that he and Mildred were in Dallas.
Bob was a lot of fun to be with. He, Erwin Cura, and I had basically the same sense of humor twisted – as most people would probably say. I will always remember the times we had with Bob, a good and loyal friend. May God bless him.
