Obituary

Robert Kenneth Elders
September 14, 1941 – August 4, 2024

Bob Elders (affectionately known as “HB”) passed peacefully at his home in Monarch Beach, CA on August 4, 2024 with family at his side.  He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Blanche Elders, and a younger brother, William (Bill) Elders.  He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Cyndi; children Jeff (Dawn), Jennifer Blan (Rick), Steve (Christina); and seven grandchildren Allison, Zachary, Madeleine, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Jackson, and Kendall; sister-in-law Denise Elders; nephew Chris (Michele); niece Brandy Price (Tom); great nephew Christopher; great nieces Harley and Sadie Price.

Bob was a proud graduate of the Merchant Marine Academy (Class of ’63) and obtained his masters degree from Columbia University in New York.  He was involved in the start-up of a small pump company (Fibroc) and was named President at the age of 31.  He spent most of his business years as a corporate executive; the majority of those years as President of Paco and Johnston Pump Companies.  He and his wife, Cyndi, moved to Southern California in January of 2000 where he was a consultant for several start-up businesses and ended his career as Vice President of Strategy for L1 Technologies in San Diego.  In retirement, Bob obtained his real estate license to help Cyndi in her business.

Bob and Cyndi loved traveling and especially traveling and vacationing with children and grandchildren.  Bob was a man of faith, a devoted father and grandfather and his greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren – many memories playing in their pool in Monarch Beach and many vacations in Hawaii where his entire focus was on his family.  He is known for his infectious smile, and it spread across his face every time he saw a call on his phone from any of the kids and/or grandkids.

Bob was respected both in business and by all that knew him; admired and loved by his family; and loved by the many friends he embraced over his lifetime.

Cyndi, we are sad to hear about Bob. He was a good friend and we had lots of good times together.
Bob was a real trouper dealing with his medical issues the last few years and he would not have survived without your love, caring and comforting.
    Take care
