Obituary

Robert Kendell Burch
4/26/1925 – 5/29/2014

WWII Veteran. Bob was born in Hollywood California, the son of professional musicians Claude and Viola. He interrupted his education at Loyola High to enter the US Navy, later serving in the Air Force. It was during his tour in the Navy that he met the love of his love, Joan Francis. They married in June 1946 and together lovingly reared daughter Michele and sons Patrick, Timothy, Kevin and Shawn. She preceded him in death and has been busy preparing their new home together in heaven for the past year. Their family includes 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to enjoying the beach he was quite active volunteering at Saint Timothy’s Catholic Church. This included singing in the choir for over 20 years. He also authored several works including ‘Ridin’ High – A Fan Views The Big Band Years’, ‘Reflections of a Common Man’ and ‘Footprints-Robert Burch’.

Bob will be sorely missed by his family and many friends, but will be consoled in knowing that he is now with God and Joan.

Services will be at Noon on June 9th at Saint Timothy’s in Laguna Niguel.

  1. Shawn says:

    Dad,
Missing you so much already! Thanks for the wonderful memories!
    Love, Shawn and Pam

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. May the outpouring of sympathy, the kind acts of friends and strangers, as well as your memories give you comfort to help you endure the days ahead. The Bible also offers comfort. “For God is near to those broken at heart. ” Ps 34:17,18. Our Creator promises that there will soon be a time when “death will be no more.” Revelation 21:4. I hope this brings you comfort.

Grandpapa, I will miss you terribly. My comfort comes in knowing that you are with your beloved wife. You and Grandmama were the best Grandparents ever. I have so many wonderful memories. Thank you. <3
