   Dad,

   I feel so blessed to have had the good fortune of two loving parents. I can’t recall an instance when either you or Mom ever let me down. Each of you inspired me to become the principled, spiritual, industrious man that I am today. Each of you was an amazing grandparent. It puts a smile on my face knowing that my Mom and Dad are reunited in Heaven.

   Dad, I will miss you terribly.

   The impact of your gentle touch, warm encouraging words, and solid character shall survive you, and influence my life forever. Rest in peace knowing that you created dreams, plans and goals. You built direction that evolved into purpose. You taught each of us responsibility and honesty. You taught us grit and perseverance when you went to a place called work every day, returning home with a sack of doughnuts that made you feel like you were carrying a bag of gold. You taught us teamwork, sportsmanship and respect for others through the many youth athletic teams that you selflessly managed.

   Dad, if I ever amount to half the man that you were, I would have lived a very successful and extraordinary life. I am so proud, so very proud, and so fortunate, to call you my father.
