Obituary

Robert (Bob) J. McCorry, 94, left this earth on Feb. 28, 2016. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Agnes Dugan. Also preceding him were his siblings, Lucille Angelo, Elaine King, Leonard and Bernard. Bob is survived by his sister Patricia Schaefer, and his children Judith (Charles, deceased) Webber, Robert Jr. (Paulette), Mary Lucille (Kenneth, deceased) Rose, and James (Mary Keane). Bob also leaves behind nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Bob was born in Chicago, IL. on August 24, 1921. He married the love of his life, Mary, on November 26, 1942. Bob served honorably with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Following the war, Bob spent nearly 50 years in optics manufacturing.

Bob and Mary moved to Mission Viejo, CA in 1976. After retiring in 1986, Bob renewed his passion for golf, reading, and tending to his roses. A faithful parishioner of St. Kilian’s Church, Bob also volunteered for many years at Mission Hospital and was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bob was a wonderful and sweet man who touched the lives of all he met. His presence in the lives of his loved ones will be forever missed. Rest in peace Bob.

  1. I just found out the news; I used to work at the bank and Mr McCorry was one of my favorite customers. He always had a smile, he was alway genuine when talking to you and it is truly my pleasure to have crossed paths in life with such a great person. He is missed.
