Sedgwick, Robert H.
1/5/1935 – 5/29/2009

Bob passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on May 29, 2009. He was born in Mission Hospital in Los Angeles and grew up in Huntington Park, CA. He graduated from Huntington Park High School in 1953 where he met the love of his life, Patricia Anne Chambers. After high school Bob served in the United States Air Force. When he returned, he and Pat married on June 22, 1956.

Bob hired on at Western Airlines in March of 1959 and became a pilot. His first flight was in July 1963. He retired from Delta Airlines in 1995. Bob and Pat lived in Dana Point, CA for 25 years and then moved to San Clemente, CA in 2001.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ila Sedgwick of San Juan Capistrano, CA. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Patricia Anne Sedgwick; daughter, Krist S. Wasem Reed of Emmett, ID, grandchildren, Brandon and Jessica; daughter, Lori Anne Sedgwick of Laguna Niguel, CA; son Robert M. Sedgwick of Dana Point, CA; and his sister, Judy Carlon Loyal of Sun Lakes, AZ.

Services will be held at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills on Wed. June 3 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Pacific View Memorial Park in Newport Beach. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at his home in San Clemente on Sat. June 6 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
