Obituary

Robert George Wynn was born January 28, 1935 in Detroit, MI. He was 7 when he relocated to Southern California. He attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School in Long Beach. After high school he joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Ord, Monterey, CA for two years. After his service he attended UCLA on the GI Bill and graduated in 1959 with a Bachelor of Science. His first ‘real’ job was with Tide Oil in Los Angeles, then he became an Account Executive with TWA in Beverly Hills. He met the love of his life, Marlene and married in April 1961. Bob and Marlene had 4 children, of which three have survived, Lyssa, Scott and Timothy. Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marlene who tragically passed at a very young age, leaving Bob a widower. Bob, however, never remarried as he wished to avoid the problems often associated with the combining of two separate families.

Bob’s passion throughout his life was travel. He went to China several times as well as to the Middle East. He often took his children along or, later in life, traveling companions accompanied him. He loved to volunteer and was very active at the Aquarium of the Pacific for 8 years, the Bowers Museum for 12 years, and many organizations close to his heart through the years.

When he moved to Southern Orange County he had several furry loves, Mattie, Porter and Skye. They provided him with an amazing amount of love and companionship. The dogs shared his love for In and Out hamburgers and The Hat. Bob always attended his children’s as well as grandchildren’s events when he wasn’t traveling. He is survived by his daughter Lyssa , her husband Michael, their children Amanda, husband Thomas Brown, great grandchildren Zoe and Theo, Cassandra, husband Matthew Wilcox, great grandchildren Claire and Kate. Ethan DeSon and fiance Jennifer Tran. Son, Scott Wynn, children Mackenzie Wynn and Kristen Bruno, husband Daniel Bruno, great grandchildren Alyssia and Brooks. Robert’s youngest son, Timothy Wynn, wife Heidi and children Kiley and Sydney.
