Obituary
Robert Bright
Robert Bright, a proud veteran of the Army and served in the Korean War, passed away August 17, 2022, at home surrounded by family. We are all left with deep sadness but know that he is now free from pain and can now rest in the arms of God. We are thankful for our mom Kathy, for the deep love and care she gave him each day – a love that never ceased.
At the age of 19, Robert Bright enlisted in the Army in 1950. He valued this service highly and received a Bronze Star, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, Combat Infantry Badge. The stories he shared about his time in the Korean War were heartfelt and at times hard to hear. But he spoke with pride for his country and thankful for God to bring him through. We are so proud of his service for our country.
Though we are hurting, we are also honored to be loved by him. We will always remember our special times with him; swap meets, carpet laying, his lotto strategies, Golf, collecting golf balls, his love for Elvis, and of course, some of his favorite sayings; “I will see you when I see you” and “I will do it tomorrow”
Robert Bright is survived by his beautiful wife Kathy,” his brother Frank Bright, his sons; Robert, Patrick (Sheila) and Dennis Bright, his daughter Patricia McMullan (David McMullan), Grandchildren; James Robert McMullan (Mellissa McMullan), Lorianne Elaine McMullan, Matthew Bright (Laney Bright). Great Grandchildren; Roman David McMullan, Beckham Hugh McMullan and Watson Beck Bright.
You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he’ll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he’s left. Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that hat he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he’d want – smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
