Dear Pat,
Our condolences to you and your family at this great loss of Dick. As far back as Al and I can remember, Dick stands out as a person who brought Cheer, Love and Joy to all who were in his presence. His musical talent and his willingness to share it with all Cursillistas will be always a dear memory for us.

Dear Pat, I in particular recall our visits to your home when a few of us girls were preparing for a concecration to Mary Our Mother, and would steal away into your “Mary’s Room”.
Dick was always so patient with our visits there, and always had time to greet us and visit with us before we would leave. We will miss him so much, but we rejoyce because we know that he is in the presence of Jesus and his Mother Mary, and he is also sharing his beautiful infectious love of music with the many that have greeted him there already.
Irene
We send a Cursillo Abrazo with Love to you and your family,

The personal presence of Dick was missed at this last Saturday’s Agape but the love and warmth brought by the thought of Dick at so many other Agapes was very present. It is a tribute to Dick and to the incredible mercy of our Lord that the community played through their grief to bring such joyous song to the candidates of #525, I thank you all for your strenght and courage.
When Deacon Doug put out the “empty” chair the emotions from most of the team couldn’t be contained.
We all love Dick and the incredible love he brought to Cursillo, and thank him for the beautiful family he led and shared with us.
Our communities loss is heaven’s gain.

I have just finished working Cursillo #525. It was perhaps the most emotional weekend I have ever worked. The Agape celebration was extremly emotional as I remembered so many other Agape celebrations of playing guitar with Dick leading us. The music was the same, but the memory of Dick leading was all too real. There was an empty chair for Dick as he often needed to sit during his latter years.
I miss him terrible. Dick played the music for my Cursillo 30 years ago. He was there encouraging me when I first started playing guitar 26 years ago, and he has encouraged me with my music as long as I have known him.
May God bless you Dick. May He give you a big instrument to replace your 12-string Guild in Heaven so that you can continue to “be his instrument” and play with a Choir of angels. I look forward to the next time we will make music together, praising God as we have so many times here on Earth.

Dear Pat & Family,
Marion and I are so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I just have to close my eyes and I can see Dick up there leading the music at Closura and marching around at Agape. He, his music and his love is something that we will never forget. You and Dick and Marion and I made the same Cursillo in San Fernando in 1973 and were table mates…38 years ago yet it all seems like yesterday. How blessed we all have been by Cursillo and the GIFT of Dick in our lives. We hold you in our hearts and prayers. Love you,
