    Dear Pat and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Hultin was so much like my dad after all these years I never knew Mr. Hultin was from MN just like Dad!…no wonder they were like 2 peas. When I got the sad news it really hit me hard. Even though I haven’t seen ya’ll since Dad’s funeral, this loss really hurts.

Mr. Hultin was such a larger-than-life guy and those guys are always missed extra! I remember the visit Mr. Hultin made here to VA to see Dad when he was bed-ridden. It meant the world to all of us and that kindness is what I keep thinking about. Mr. Hultin was such a true friend. He was a grace-filled person. He was doing the Spirit’s work in everything he did. I remember his singing belting out the music more like it. His joy was infectious. His smile could win over the coldest heart. Dad loved him, and so did we.

I don’t think there are degrees of happiness in heaven, but if it’s possible, I know Dad got happier the minute his best bud showed up! I am confident Dad has secured a guitarone and Mr. Hultin has the best 12-string EVER and they’ll be practicing to serenade us all when we arrive!

Being left behind is so painful. I am sorry for the new quiet in your life. I have had several “encounters” where Dad has sent me a special hello. I know Mr. Hultin is that same kind of guy. I’m sure you’ll continue to feel his love and spirit and there will be one heck of an Agape when we all meet again.

Please know that your family will be in our prayers during this especially difficult year. Mr. Hultin wasn’t just loved… he WAS love! Peace be with you.

  3. so, to follow up on my brothers comments. As I’m sure there are questions as to why my brother signed off as “gasoline”. When my brother was born I could not remember his name so grandpa told me to think of when you fill up your car with gasoline Phillip. Well, me being a dumb ass, remembered gasoline instead of Phillip! There are so many stories that could be shared and so many great memories that have shuffled around in my brain over the last 6 days but I won’t ramble forever instead I will just say that grandpa Dick was the best grandpa I could have ever hoped to have and every day will seem like one very important piece of the puzzle is missing not the one that Frannie stole!. I love you and will miss you very much and I know you are in a better place now…Cheers!
    Dave
