  1. As a young member of the St. Nicholas guitar choir in the mid-1970’s, Dick was an inspiration with his music, and mentor with his advice. He was also one of the most generous people I’ve known. A ready smile, a helping hand, an encouraging word are the indelible imprints he made on me. He also held me accountable, for the music, for helping him once or twice on the job, and for growing up. He gave me my first “real” guitar, a 6-string Epiphone, and instilled in me a desire for a 12-string, which I eventually picked up along the way. I envy the fact he could weave his love for music into his life – something I’m still trying to do. May God embrace him, and those who remain here.

  2. Pat & Family,

We are told to ‘be ready, because we never know when our time will come’. Dick lived a life of readiness. He personified Cursillo to all of us; always making, being, and bringing countless friends to Christ. Through his gift of music, which he so generously shared, he enriched the Cursillo weekends for all of us. If one were to tally the number of Agapes. Mananitas, and Clausuras at which he played, the number would be mind boggling. And although we weren’t ready for him to depart our world, his life of commitment to his faith, of not just talking the talk, but actually walking the walk, guaranteed him a fast track entry into Heaven. The void left by his passing will be larger than life but we have no doubt that he will be present in spirit at every Cursillo event, smiling down upon the musicians as they carry on as best they can without him.

Indeed the miles may separate us, but our hearts and prayers will be joined with the Hultin family, as well as the Cursillo community Tuesday morning as you gather to celebrate Dick’s Homecoming Mass. Likewise we will be ringing our bells to commemorate Dick’s service to Cursillo. And may we never forget, that we are all better people for having known Dick.

    Dear Pat & Family,
Another angel is in heaven with that smile I will NEVER forget!
I pray for peace of mind and heart during this difficult loss for your family.
God Bless Dick for ALL he gave to others!

  4. People come into our lives and we are never the same. This saying is so true about Dick. Our deepest condolence. Dick will always be “Mr Cursillo”. He lived and walked with Jesus. Now he is home and we here can only remember the joy and love he shared with all he came in contact with. Someday we will all be together loving and dancing with our Jesus and friends on our 5th day. Our hearts and prayers be with you Pat and family as you continue to walk with Jesus without Dick by your side. We are unable to join you and say good-bye to our friend in Jesus, but will be with you in spirit as you celebrate Dick’s life. Let the bells ring in the joy of Dick life.

  5. I am sad for Dick’s family and the loss of my brother. We had not been close in many years, but we talked from time to time. I am sorry I did’t know in time to attend the funeral. I will be there in my heart. My condolences to Pat and the family, Love, Larry
