Obituary

Richard Villasenor Osuna entered into eternity on November 13, 2009. His health continued to decline after a series of strokes which occurred in mid August 2009.

He was born April 7, 1942 in Tucson, Arizona to Jesus and Cruzita Osuna. Raised most of his life in the Los Angeles area, Richard attended Cathedral High School and Los Angeles City College, where he obtained an AA degree. He met the love of his life, Francille, in 1961. They became bookends and eventually married in January 1965. Richard served in the US Army from 1964 -1966 during the Vietnam War, and returned home to his wife, where they made their first home in El Monte, California.

Richard and Francille later moved to Hacienda Heights, where they raised their family of three. Richard was an active member of the Hacienda Heights Jaycees throughout the 1970’s, and was named Jaycee of the Year in 1975 and 1976. He fulfilled a life-long dream in 1976 by opening his own restaurant, The Barbecue Chuckwagon, which boasted to have the best homemade food to be found anywhere! Richard also continued to work in the meat industry as a quality control supervisor for Jobber’s Meat Co., which specialized in military contracts.

In 1989, Richard and Francille moved to Fresno, built a home and started their own insurance business. Richard was a pillar of the business community, and received numerous awards and accolades during the early 90’s. Richard later retired when his health took a turn for the worse, in 2003. Leaving behind many friends, and business associates, they moved to Las Vegas for a year and a half before finally coming home to Southern California in June 2006.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Francille; children: Lisa Strnad David and Ric Osuna Lucy; stepson: Steve Stinnett Cheryl; 6 grandchildren and his brother, George Osuna Elaine.
