IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Raymond
Soto Sr.
October 25, 1960 – October 12, 2023
Ladies and gentlemen, we gather here today to celebrate the vibrant and loving life of a remarkable man, Richard Raymond Soto Sr. Born on October 25th, 1960, in the sunny city of San Jose, California, to Diane and Edward Soto, Richard's journey through life was marked by an infectious energy and a deep commitment to family and friends.
During his high school years at Yerba Buena High School, Richard's path took a momentous turn when he crossed paths with the love of his life, Bridget. Little did they know that this encounter would set the stage for a remarkable 47-year-long journey of unwavering love and devotion. In 1983, they took their vows and embarked on an adventurous journey that led them from California to Florida and eventually to the picturesque landscapes of Hawaii before finally settling in Southern California in 1993.
Richard was not just a loving husband but a dedicated father, son, brother, and papa. He was a man who understood the true essence of family values. He believed in providing for his loved ones, not just materially but with a heart full of love, support, and unwavering dedication. His love for his grandson Deacon was a sight to behold, unmatched and pure, a testament to the depth of his compassion.
In the early '90s, Richard ventured into the world of aviation, kickstarting a remarkable 30-year-long career in sales. Throughout this journey, he had the privilege of meeting and touching the lives of countless individuals across the globe. His unique blend of a positive attitude and his occasional "whitey" remarks endeared him to everyone. His candid and straightforward nature was, in truth, an expression of his care and concern for those he interacted with. He was known for his charismatic personality, his infectious humor, and his ever-present caring spirit.
However, what truly set Richard apart was his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. He lived by the principle that the bonds we share with our loved ones are what truly matter. Richard was not just present in the lives of his family; he was the cornerstone of their existence, offering support, love, and wisdom whenever needed.
He embraced life with open arms, enjoying its most precious moments and the best it had to offer. Richard lived by the philosophy that life is too short to be anything but joyful and positive, and he shared this outlook with everyone he met.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, let us remember him not with sorrow, but with the same energy and enthusiasm that he brought to life. Richard Raymond Soto Sr. was a beacon of light, a source of love, and a testament to the power of family bonds. His legacy will live on in our hearts, reminding us of the importance of love, loyalty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Rest in peace, Richard. Your legacy will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
