My heart is sad and I will miss you my friend. We worked together at 2 companies Maxell and Sony, and I owe you so muuch for all your help and mentoring. You taught me how to be organized for every meeting and to leave nothing to chance, which helped make me sucessful. We shared so many music similarities and I can’t tell you how many times I listened to the music you made me. The next bomber is for you my friend, and I will be sure to order 2 tails at Scoma’s in your honor. Rest well and keep an eye on me, because you touched my life. Signed JeffSparky, Sluggo McHenry

I worked with Richard for 4 years with Terise, Dan, Tom & Doug…”The Sony Team” on the Ingram Account. While Richard and I sometimes disagreed about things, we privately joked about how it “advanced the creative process”. At the end of the day, we appreciated and respected one another and enjoyed our collaboration in business, our mutual love of music and the joy of getting to work with and know some outstanding people. There are too many to mention both in Santa Ana & Buffalo, and you know who you are and we thank you. We all had some great times together, shared each other’s victories and losses and trials and tribulations. It is hard to believe you are gone, my heart is sad. I will miss your eclectic CD’s, sharing drinks together and so much more than can be said here. You are missed and remembered and loved as you touched many. Thank you for being a true stand up guy! Peace and love to you Richard…

I worked with Richard at Maxell for 5 years. This was before email, so we spent a lot of time talking, and became friends. I had not seen him in quite awhile and now I feel saddened by his early loss.

Richard was my Sales Manager while at Maxell for a number of years. He was a real professional. I learned from him and he helped me take my work to a higher level.

I have so many fond memories of work as well as personal experiences. Dual lobster tail dinners at Scomas. We even decided to step it up to a 3 lobster tail dinner one night! We always included a stop at Tower Records on Columbus where he talked “shop” with Boz Scaggs one night. After dinner, we would go for the views up at Coit Tower. SF was one of his favorite cities, and he could never visit the territory without a trip to the city.

Good concerts with Richard were plentiful and the two standout concerts we attended together were Jimmy Page and Robert Plant’s Unledded Tour in 1994 as well as Tom Petty at the Shoreline. Richard knew his music so well! We loved to trade tunes such as my Beatles bootlegs for his Zep bootlegs!

Classic music, classic days. Richard, your memory will live on forever! Then as it was, then again it will be . . .

    Your friend,

    Jeff Mason
