Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard, a beloved husband, father, brother, and son, who passed away on March 16th, 2025 at the age of 64 years old. Born in Lima, Peru, Richard was a man of great integrity and dedication, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, unwavering love for his family, and a vibrant zest for life.
Richard pursued his passion for finance by earning a degree in accounting. His professional life was marked by a successful career in the banking sector in Peru, where he dedicated many years of service to various institutions.
Family was the cornerstone of Richard’s life. He was happily married to Giovana Arroyo, and together they were blessed with a wonderful son, Rick. Richard was immensely proud of Rick and wholeheartedly supported his educational aspirations. He was instrumental in Rick’s pursuit of a Language Development degree in Lima and later a degree in Human Resources here in the United States.
Fourteen years ago, Richard made the courageous decision to move to the United States. While he always held a deep love for his native Peru, he also grew to love his new country. He and his family made the significant decision to become proud citizens of the United States. In this new chapter, Richard continued his hard work and dedication to his family. He was a constant source of support and encouragement for his wife, Giovana Arroyo, who works as a Spanish teacher. He was always involved in helping her prepare her classes and enthusiastically motivated her to continuously innovate her teaching methods.
Beyond his professional and family life, Richard was a truly engaging and knowledgeable person. He had a remarkable ability to converse on a wide array of subjects, from politics and sports to the intricacies of food and just about anything imaginable. He possessed an insatiable curiosity and always sought to learn and research new things.
Richard also had a joyful and entertaining spirit. He had a passion for singing, and was often the life of the party, especially during karaoke gatherings. He had a knack for bringing people together with his voice and his infectious enthusiasm. Furthermore, he had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to share a laugh and support the family jokes.
Richard will be remembered for his kind heart, his strong character, his unwavering devotion to his family, his love for both Peru and the United States, and his lively and engaging personality. He will be deeply missed by his wife Giovana, his son Rick, his siblings, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
Con profunda tristeza anunciamos el fallecimiento de Richard, un amado esposo, padre, hermano e hijo, quien falleció el 16 de marzo del 2025 a la edad de 64 años. Nacido en Lima, Perú, Richard fue un hombre de gran integridad y dedicación, dejando tras de sí un legado de arduo trabajo, amor incondicional por su familia y una vibrante alegría por la vida.
Richard persiguió su pasión por las finanzas obteniendo un título en Contabilidad. Su vida profesional estuvo marcada por una exitosa carrera en el sector bancario en Perú, donde dedicó muchos años de servicio a diversas instituciones.
La familia fue la piedra angular de la vida de Richard. Estuvo felizmente casado con Giovana Arroyo, y juntos fueron bendecidos con un hijo maravilloso, Rick. Richard estaba inmensamente orgulloso de Rick y apoyó de todo corazón sus aspiraciones educativas. Fue fundamental en la búsqueda de Rick de un título en Desarrollo del Lenguaje en Lima y, más tarde, un título en Recursos Humanos aquí en los Estados Unidos.
Hace catorce años, Richard tomó la valiente decisión de mudarse a los Estados Unidos. Si bien siempre sintió un profundo amor por su Perú natal, también llegó a amar su nuevo país. Él y su familia tomaron la importante decisión de convertirse en orgullosos ciudadanos de los Estados Unidos. En este nuevo capítulo, Richard continuó su arduo trabajo y dedicación a su familia. Fue una fuente constante de apoyo y aliento para su esposa, Giovana Arroyo, quien trabaja como profesora de español. Siempre estuvo involucrado en ayudarla a preparar sus clases y la motivó con entusiasmo a innovar continuamente sus métodos de enseñanza.
Más allá de su vida profesional y familiar, Richard era una persona verdaderamente interesante y conocedora. Tenía una notable capacidad para conversar sobre una amplia gama de temas, desde política y deportes hasta las complejidades de la comida y casi cualquier cosa imaginable. Poseía una curiosidad insaciable y siempre buscaba aprender e investigar cosas nuevas.
Richard también tenía un espíritu alegre y entretenido. Le apasionaba cantar y, a menudo, era el alma de la fiesta, especialmente durante las reuniones de karaoke.
