Richard Maximilian Lehn

Richard Maximilian Lehn passed away on July 7, 2022 in Newport Beach California due to health complications. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Clarice D. Lehn and children: Richard Anton Lehn (Cari), Jacqueline Lehn Dupont (Marc Carlson) and Mark Jonathan Lehn (Svetlana) and stepchildren Tom Beckes (Sue) and Bob Beckes (Emily). Richard had 20 Grandchildren who he adored: Richard, Rachel, Rebecca, R. Jacob, Jenna, Richard, Quentin, Madison, Anastasia, Sophia, Matthew, Anna, Eva, Anders, Paige, Ian, Mareesa, Blake, Branden and Brent. Richard was born May 17, 1938 in Polk (Slinger area) Wisconsin. Richard is preceded by his eight siblings and father: Anton. Siblings: George, Mary Lou, Albert, Tony, Lillian, Johanna, Tom and William (Billy). He was orphaned at age two and was the last of his eight siblings to pass away.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin (NROTC Scholarship) and Loyola Law School. Richard was one of the proud founders of the Downey Kiwanis Foundation dedicated to the disabled and other worthy causes for the city of Downey. He practiced law at Ardis & Lehn located in Downey, CA., with his beloved partner Haygood Ardis for many years.

A Vigil and Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 22nd starting at 10:15am at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Newport Beach, California.

  1. What a fun and loving man. He always had a great attitude and loved to tell jokes. His stories were always believed to be true, but were they? May he rest in piece and know he was loved by many.
