Rich, we all loved you . Not only for the wonderful husband and father you were but for the friendship you gave me and my family. No one could throw back the sarcasm like you. I will miss that and you very much. Your huge heart will live on through your children. You’ll always be with us. The Floods

When Rich and I were very young, Rich offered to teach me to drive a stick shift in his 442( I think it was a 442 or something muscle car like that). The car was parked in front of the house but behind our stationwagon and I did as he instructed, “Push in the clutch, put into first and then slowly let up on the clutch while giving it some gas.” Apparently I was giving it too much gas and hadn’t quite gotten to the point of engaging and he was all, “No, no, no! Push in the clutch” I would have peeled out and probably plowed into the back of station wagon had I engaged. So hilarious. We both agreed that perhaps I should learn in a less powerful car. I will miss him. Such a great guy and a great brother.

A few years ago, I was looking at buying a car. Because there was a possibility of a work transfer soon, I elected to buy a used car and asked Richard to go with me. With both of us having an appreciation for cars, the seller disn’t expect 2 grown men to comb thru a car the way we did. We took the test drive and Richard and I both negotiated pricing with the seller. Cars were always a big topic for us to discuss. So forget the Pink Cadillac in Heaven, I think Richard is happy in a Camaro with fresh paint!

  4. During the brief times we worked together, he always treated me with respect and gave me the warranted attention. His easy going personality made him approachable and easy to work with. He will be missed. My prayers are with the Olson family.

  5. We love you and miss you Rich.
