Obituary
Ray A. Churlonis of Laguna Niguel, rest in peace, Friday, January 22, 2010 at the age of 59 years.
Beloved son of Birute M.Varnas. Loving father of Kristen M. Churlonis, Megan R. Churlonis, Molly A. Churlonis. Dear brother of Andrius V. Varnas and brother-in-law of Diane Varnas, loved brother of Valentina E. Varnas. Preceded in death by his father Balys Ciurlionis and Valentinas Varnas.
Services to celebrate Ray’s life and mourn his death will take place in two events: Friday January 29th at 7PM, O’Connor Mortuary-Laguna Hills Chapel, 25301 Alicia Parkway, Laguna Hills, CA 92653 and Saturday January 30th at 11AM, Saint Casimir’s Catholic Church, 2718 Saint George Street, LA, CA 90027.

Ray was one of the finest persons I’ve ever met. He was outstanding in every way and his presence in a crewroom was always welcome as he was a giant among Captains

My deepest sympathies to Ray’s family & friends. Ray was one of the genuinely nicest guys I got to meet at Tiger’s and a fine pilot that sadly passed much too soon. I’m glad I had the pleasure to share time with him on our travels around the globe. Rest in peace Ray…..You will be remembered by many and toasted at many Tiger reunion’s to come.

Ray was a true Tiger all the way. Besides being a good friend, Ray was a great captain. He was such a pleasant and warm individual at all times. He will be missed greatly.
