Obituary

Ramesh Parekh of South Florida passed away peacefully on March 20, 2018 from health complications. He was surrounded by his loving family as he transitioned on to his next adventure.

Ramesh was born on December 22nd, 1932 in Kampala, Uganda to Maganlal and Manchaben Parekh. At a very young age, he started working with his uncle to support his big family. In 1957, he married Sudha in India and returned to  Nairobi, Kenya where his daughter Neeta and son Asheet (Ken) were born. After spending over a decade in East Africa, Ramesh and his family moved to Canada, where their third child, Anjou, was born.  Warm weather and opportunity brought them all to Miami, Florida in 1972, where they planted mango trees, went swimming, and cultivated many friendships. He called South Florida his home for over 45 years. He spent his final year in San Diego, California at the home he called ‘Sunset Villa,’ enjoying breathtaking ocean vistas and sunset skies surrounded by his loving grandchildren and his caring friends.

Ramesh is remembered dearly for his joviality and optimism, and he touched many hearts around the world with his zest for life and his warm smile. He was always ready for any adventure and enjoyed traveling the world. Ramesh was a voracious reader and willing to learn new technology from his grandkids in order to keep up with the latest social media. He had a passion for great food, musical events, and playing his favorite card game called bukharro. With several successful businesses, he built a good life for his family. Above all, he made everlasting memories with his 3 amazing children and his seven beautiful grandchildren and showered them with sweets and affection, making sure they were always fed and happy.

In a poem dedicated to his grandfather, Sachin wrote, “We love you very much and we wish you the very best in your after-life. We will continue to live vicariously through you discovering new life, new hope, and new courage in this wonderful world.”

May he now join the dearest love of his life, Sudha, in eternal peace!
