Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph Frank Tackes announces his passing on Thursday, November 2, 2017.
Ralph was born on November 6, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Nicholas and Barbara Tackes. Ralph received his BA from Loyola University and proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Ralph is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Melissa Jean; son Thomas (wife Katy); daughter Mary (husband Mark); daughter Jane (husband Dave); daughter Judith (husband Jay); son Nicholas (wife Ana); Grandchildren: Zachary, Joshua, Sara, Nicholas, Rachel, Lily, Ava, Tate, Nathan, Matthew, Madeline and Great-granddaughter Rayne.

This painting, Tethered By Love, is in honor of my father-in-law who crossed over shortly before this painting came to me.
No matter what the distance or form; we are all Tethered By Love.

I only knew Ralph for 4 short years. He immediately made me feel right at home as part of his family. I always looked forward to our visits when we would talk sports and politics as well as how he impressed me with his vast knowledge of history. I enjoyed our trips to the coffee shop and him introducing me to the Lox Bagel at Rose Bakery Cafe. It was an honor to have known him for the short time that I did and I will always cherish the memories. God bless you Ralph. I will miss you.
