Obituary

QUENTIN PAUL SCARANTINO
January 25, 1997 ~ July 25, 2010

Quentin Paul Scarantino passed from this life in his sleep, on July 25, at the age of 13. Quentin lived his entire life in San Juan Capistrano with his brother, Dominic, sisters, Angelique and Daniella and parents Sherri and Sal.

Quentin could only be described as beyond outgoing, full of energy despite his health condition and on a continuous mission to meet and befriend every single person willing to spare a moment of their time. And make friends he did! Whether it was in his family’s sports bar/Italian restaurant, at a party, beach, store, in school or around the neighborhood. If you had an interesting look about you or just a nice smile Quentin would approach, extend his hand and say ‘Hi I’m Quentin.’ With a positive response the interview would begin. He melted some pretty hard characters with his technique and on his next visit he would call you by name.

Quentin had ‘NO BAD DAYS’ and lived his life with more enthusiasm and happiness than anyone we have ever met. He will be sorely missed by many, but his lessons live on.

There are no words to thank all the people who gave Quentin their attention and affection for that is what made his life.

Memorial for Quentin

On Sunday July 25, Sal and Sherri’s son Quentin passed on to life in heaven. Over the past 10 years Quentin spent his time making friends. When you can make a friend for life in less than 5 minutes you will live more in 13 years than most of us can hope for in a lifetime. He led a full and blessed life doing everything he wanted to do.

Quentin considered everyone he met to be his friend and anyone he hadn’t met, soon to become his friend. He seated himself at many tables without invitation. He was not constrained by the rules of society. He had no reservations and didn’t feel he needed any.

Whether you were a friend of Quentin’s or just knew of Quentin you are all welcome at his memorial on:

  1. My sincerest condolences to the Scarantino family on our tremendous loss. I had the great honor to teach Quentin in the FISH class at St. Edwards and feel so blessed to have known him. I know that he is now with our other saints in heaven and is at peace. Please let me know if there is anything at all I can do for your family. God bless.

  2. We were so saddened to hear of Quentins passing. We loved it when he would cross the field with Dominic to visit us on Ganado. What a special young man.
Our deepest sympathy to your family.
