Obituary

It is with great love and sadness that we announce the passing of Prakash Dange, who left us on August 24, 2025 at the age of 80.

Prakash was born on May 8, 1945 in Nagpur, India to Dr. Ramkrishna and Indira Dange. He was one of five siblings. He received a Masters degree in mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur. He was the first of his family to immigrate to the United States, where he would continue his studies in engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago (Illinois Tech). After earning his Masters degree at Illinois Tech in 1971, he would go on to obtain a MBA from Loyola University Chicago in 1975.

Prakash wed his forever partner, Meenal, in 1972, and they would remain married for 53 years until his passing. While living in the Chicago area, they had two sons, Rajiv and Rahul. Prakash and his family moved to Southern California in 1978. Meenal’s siblings (and their families) soon joined them, and they would build a life in Mission Viejo filled with family and friends. Together, Prakash and his family traveled the country and the world, and they especially enjoyed frequenting national parks like Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. Outside of his love for travel, Prakash also had a passion for playing and watching tennis.

Prakash dearly loved his family, including his twin grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. Friends and family will remember him for his special qualities—kindness, intelligence, humor, and his easy-going nature, and for the countless ways he touched the lives of those around him.

Prakash is survived by his wife, Meenal; his sons, Rajiv and Rahul (Anita); and grandchildren Ishan and Asmi.

A memorial service will be held on 10:00 AM at O’Connor Mortuary, 25301 Alicia Pkwy, Laguna Hills, CA. All who loved Prakash are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

Though Prakash may no longer be with us, the love, laughter, and memories shared will live on forever.
