Dr. McClave, Philip Lonie DVM passed away September 17, 2006 of natural causes at the age of 93. Dr. McClave was born August 29, 1913 in Snake River, ID, raised in Colorado, where he attended Colorado State University, graduating with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1937.

In 1940 after moving to Los Angeles he met and married Gretchen Ballreich. He served in the US Army during WWII and was honorably discharged as a Major. In 1948 the family moved to the San Fernando Valley, where he opened McClave Veterinary Hospital that continues to this day.

Gretchen passed away in 1981 shortly after moving to Leisure World Laguna Woods, California.

In 1983 Phil married Norma Vincent, a longtime family friend. They were married for 23 years until her passing in June of this year.

He is survived by his two sons, Ray McClave of Las Vegas, NV and Jack McClave of Rockaway Beach, OR; four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2006 ~ 10:00 A.M. at O'Connor Mortuary, Laguna Hills, CA.
