Reading the posts on Facebook to you, I can tell that everyone loved and enjoyed Philip, and I’ve felt like I missed a real blessing in life by never having met him. But my heart is tied to you forever, MaryKay, because of our friendship all through our growing-up years. I have cried for all of you, and I pray for God’s peace and mercy to carry you forever,as your lives have been forever changed. Having a child (or a big brother, or a husband) who is so loved by others is a treasure that can never be replaced, but also can never be completely lost. May God begin to show you quickly some of the good that He will bring out of this tragedy. The Spirit of the Lord anointed Jesus “to bind up the brokenhearted, . . . to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair” (Isaiah 61:1-3). May He fulfill this promise to each of you soon. But, God’s word, is the only word that brings us such comfort and peace. His word is true and right and just and does not return void. It is so comforting to know that Philip is in Heaven as we speak, doing what he does best, making others happy. That’s what I remember about Philip, his warm, friendly personality. When you have had an encounter with Philip, its not easily forgotten. 🙂 Our loss is definitely God’s gain! I am sure Jesus is having an awesome time fellowshipping with Philip and vise versa. Remember, Jesus is coming back soon to take us to be with him, take comfort in that one day real soon, you will be spending eternity with your son. this is certainly not the end but the beginning, the beggining of a new life for Philip, a new residence, a glorious home. What an amazing God we have that He should have mercy on us to grant us the privilege of eternity with Him. <3 Reply Jenny says: June 8, 2013 Your precious face I see over and over again. How you would share a story or tell the next thing you were going to do. Your little hair cut with your bangs just at your eyes. You had so much enthusiasm with each word that came out of your mouth. Your little head would nod at each word spoken. I will never forget you. Chris said today at your service: it was very sad. But there”s so much peace knowing he’s with the Lord! See you are still a witness to others.
