Obituary

Peter T. Kalmen, beloved husband, father and brother passed away on Thursday November 12, 2009 with his wife by his side. Peter was born to Colonel James and Mrs. Dagmar Kalmen in St. Paul, Minn. on October 8, 1947.

He is survived by his loving wife Jodee of 36 years; two sons – Zachary Myles age 21 and Parker Jaymes age 17; a sister, Kay Kalmen Ward of San Antonio, Texas; 3 nieces, Christina Mangie of Sarasota, Florida, Wendy Pelly of Salt Lake City, Utah and Holly Lawless of Phoenix, Arizona; 3 great-nieces and a great-nephew.

A 22-year resident of Lake Forest, Peter was Sales and Marketing Director at QSC Audio Products, Inc. of Costa Mesa for 16 wonderful years until the first appearances of his brain disease. He was diagnosed 2 years after his job loss due to lack of knowledge and awareness of frontotemporal dementia and supraneuclear palsy by most physicians. Peter fought a heroic fight up to the very end, as the most important thing in his life was his fatherhood to his sons and the love to his family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:
Association for Frontotemporal Dementia,
Radnor Station Building #2 Suite 200,
290 King of Prussia Rd.,
Radnor, PA 19087

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Peter at Unity Spiritual Life Center, 22911 Mill Creek Rd., Laguna Hills, CA. 92653 on Sunday, November 22nd promptly at 2:00 pm. The Reverend Margaret Melanie will officiate. Please plan on a two- to three-hour time commitment with light refreshments served after the service.
