Obituary

Peter (Pietro) James Adamo, 91, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from natural causes on March 9, 2014 at his home in North Tustin. Pete was born in Rome, New York on April 18, 1922 to parents Giuseppe (Joseph) Adamo and Giuseppina (Josephine) Rizzo Adamo.

After proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, Pete settled in California to practice his two passions in life. A restaurateur by profession, he will be fondly remembered by friends, family and patrons alike for his amazing culinary skills. When not in the kitchen, Pete could be found betting on the winning horse. He practiced both of these passions daily up to the day before his passing.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dominic (Domenico) Adamo, Barbara Mungari and John (Giovanni) Adamo.

He is survived by his children Joseph Adamo, John (Amy) Adamo and Patricia Marie (Jeff) Groton; grandchildren Trever Adamo, Natalie Rae, Nicholas Adamo and Analyse Groton; siblings Joseph Adamo and Antoinetta (John) Fischer. He is further survived by a niece and nephew Robert Adamo, Gina (Don) Adamo Baker and their children Lauren Marie Adamo, Hannah Baker, Olivia Adamo and Ava Adamo.

Please join the family for service held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Good Shepherd Cemetery, 8301 Talbert Avenue, Huntington Beach, CA 92646. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. with interment following.

In lieu of flowers and in honor of his late sister Barbara, Pete would have encouraged donations to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation at www.pdf.org.

“Uncle Pete”will be missed greatly by his family.
He was always ready to contribute his gift of
fine traditional Italian cooking to the Adamo family functions.
He was a veteran of WW2, and proudly told us of how he was the
General’s personal cook.Rest peacefully, old soldier!
