Our beloved mother, Peifang Xu, passed away at the age of 80 on June 1 ^st , 2018. Peifang was visiting her family in Irvine, California.

Peifang Xu, was born in Beijing on October 18th, 1937. She graduated from the Girl’s High School associated to the Beijing Normal University, and later attended Beijing Medical College where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in Medicine. After graduating from university, Peifang started working for the school, and taught Public Health Policy and Administration. After serving the school for 38 years, she retired as vice dean, and professor of the School of Public Health at Beijing Medical University.

Our mother was known to be warm and generous. She always cared for and enjoyed helping others. She especially liked to cultivate younger generations and encouraged them to achieve higher in their career. She loved everything about life and enjoyed the natural beauty of the world. She enriched her daily activities by Chinese painting, solving puzzles, practicing Tai Chi, and traveling to her favorite places.

While our mother is now gone, we can still hear her warm voice and see her loving face, she stays in our minds and our hearts. Her noble spirit and great life story lights our way ahead and will always be our family treasure.

Peifang is survived by her daughters Xing and Rong, and her two grandsons Yuankai and Benjamin.

A farewell and cremation ceremony is scheduled at the O’Connor funeral home in Orange County, California, at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 9th, 2018. A subsequent memorial service will be held when the ashes is returned to Beijing in early July.

慈母徐培方在美国探亲期间于公元 2018 å¹´ 6 月 1 日因背痛和腹部不锂锁美国加州橙县新港滩霍格综合医院（ Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Newport Beach, CA ) 攥诊就诊，在就诊过程中突发心跳骤停，因抢救无效，于当地时间 19 æ—¶ 51 分锝世，享年 80 岁 㔂

母亲徐培方于 1937 年 10 月 18 日生于北京，毕业于师大女附中，后就读于北京医学院获医学学士学位㔂大学毕业后留校工作，曾执教卫生统计和卫生政策与管理学至教授，锔休前任北京医科大学公共卫生学院党委书记㔁副院长㔂

母亲生前待人真诚无私，平等和蔼；她乐于助人，细心周到；她关爱晚辈，鼓励进取，母亲以她高尚的品德和修养无微不至的呵护睔我们晚辈的成长；她热爱生活，钟情于秔丽风光和美妙花草，绘画，拼图，太极拳和旅游都是她的朔爱㔂

母亲走了，可她的音容笑貌永远珍藏在我们心里，她的高贵精神永远引领我们前行㔂

母亲的告别和火化仪式定于美西时间 6 月 9 日上午 10 时在加州橙县 O ‘ Connor 殡仪馆举行㔂追攝悼念仪式待骨灰七月初锁回北京后举办㔂
