Obituary

Our beloved mother, wife, daughter and sister, Peggy Armas Narciso Trinidad, 42, passed away in peace on May 26, 2004.

Pegs, as those of us dear to her heart call her, was born on October 29, 1961 in Manila, Philippines to Amancio and Loreta Narciso. Pegs spent her childhood years, together with her sister Irene, and brothers Ronald and Eric in Angeles City. They were surrounded by the love of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins who to this day are as close as if they still live within miles of each other.

Pegs then spent her high school years at Holy Family Academy, where her beauty and personality blossomed into an outgoing young lady. After high school, Pegs moved back to Manila to study at Maryknoll College. Pegs stayed at a boarding house across from the school where she formed lasting friendships and her fondest memories.

Shortly after college, Pegs moved to New York, NY to be with her parents. Pegs enjoyed her work at a clothing design company in mid-town Manhattan’s fashion district, where she became a typical 80’s New York career woman, fashionably dressed for the season but with both dress shoes and tennis shoes in tow, dressy for meetings and comfy for sidewalk jaunts.

During a visit to Denver in 1984, Pegs met the Trinidad family. One of the Trinidad brothers, Angelo Gel had a lightning crush on Pegs and was truly smitten after their eyes met at the corner of 14th and Arapahoe during an evening walk at the 16th Street Mall.  Not long after, Pegs and Gel were married on August 16, 1986 and spent their first years together in Woodside, Queens, NY.

When Pegs was eight months pregnant she and Gel moved to Long Beach, CA and their first son, Jonathan, was born on December 2, 1988. Pegs and Gel then bought their first house in Foothill Ranch, CA in 1991, a small budding community in Lake Forest. On August 17, 1993, Pegs and Gel added another son, Tim, to their now also budding family. Shortly thereafter, sixteen months to be exact, another son Noah was born on November 21, 1994 and the phrase ?TriBoys? became to mean something.

Pegs passionately devoted her time to her boys? well-being and education. She shared with them her love for books by taking them to the library, in between treks to soccer fields, baseball fields and piano lessons. She imprinted on them the virtues of friendship, respect, integrity and honesty. And she showed them, through her strength of heart and will against all odds that Love, Family, and Friendship is of most import. With the grace of God may we all live as fruitful a life as Pegs with the bounty of the hands and hearts that she touched.

  1. I love my MOM so much, she always cared for me when I was down and wasnt feeling well. I will always have great memories of my mom and she has impacted my life so much. She has taught me to be a kind and respectful person. I promise my mom that i will live my life like she has wanted me to. I also learned to be courageous because my mom showed so much courage throught the tough times. She was always optimistic and very positive so that always helped me keep my head up. I will miss you mom, just as you said to me in our conversation.

    Love Always, Jon-Jon

  2. I am deeply saddened by the loss of someone I truly admired and looked up to. Growing up, I wanted to be just like Atching Pegs. She had it all – beauty, a great sense of humor and she was so much fun to be around. I love her very much.

George and I offer our condolences to Mama Beng, Bapang Mancio, Gel and the boys. Our love and prayers are with all of you.

    Always,
    Joyce and George

  4. Tim Trinidad says:

No matter whar happens, I will love my mom. I lose a million dollar race, of course I still will love my mom, why wouldn’t I? My life almost surrounded my mom because of all the effort she put in to take care of us. Even when she got very ill, she still asked me if I did my three thingswash hands, brush teeth, and wash face. Though life will be very, very tough, my brothers and I had a chance to talk it over with my mom. Just like I said in my Mother’s Day poem, if anyone ever, I mean ever, says that I didn’t love my mom, well obviously their lieing as much as they ever could.

  5. Angela Mejia says:

I have always felt a closeness with my cousin Pegs though she was a lot older than me and I didn’t get to see her as often as I liked. Pegs had that warmth and genuine concern for close family and friends. Her cheerful voice, smile and laughter was infectious. Even when she wasn’t feeling well, she still had a happy disposition, it was as if she was the one trying to cheer you up. I know how much she loved her Triboys from ‘My Gel-gel,’ Jon the soccer player, Tim the Treasurer to the multi-talented and sweet Noah. I hope to stay close and be part of their lives. I will really miss Pegs, she will always be in my thoughts and in my heart.
