Obituary

Pearl Gross Mougios, born 8/2/1919 in Coshocton, OH, passed on 5/18/2011 in Laguna Hills, CA.

Pearl owned Gross Realty in Barberton, OH for many years. Managed Bail Bond Agencies, Cleveland, OH. Created, manufactured and sold a product called ‘Flirty Feet’ while a resident of Honolulu, HI. Accomplished author of books, short stories, and artist of many media.

With husband Terry Mougios, a ship captain, she sailed the Aegean Sea and traveled throughout the Mediterranean. While he was a private captain in Newport Beach, they hosted Billy and Ruth Graham on their yacht.

Member of Loyal Oak Lutheran Church for many years in Ohio where she taught Sunday School. Attended Mission Lutheran Church in Laguna Niguel with her daughter Rose Marie.

Neighborhood Chairman of Girl Scouts of America. Active in and President of School PTA. Member of Capistrano Valley Republican Women Federated. Gifted many large print books to the Fort Myers Beach, FL Public Library. Appeared in Who’s Who in Women of America.

Pearl is survived by 4 daughters, Beverlee Ann Stone of Corona, Rose Marie Gross of Laguna Hills, Georgia Shakti Hill of Fort Myers Beach, FL and Judith Carol Borden of Costa Mesa; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandson Kilian; sisters Mary Mihiylov of Coudersport, PA and Grace Coughlin of Melbourne, FL.

Preceded in death by father George Smith; mother Pearl Leavengood Smith; beloved husband, married in 1937, and father of her daughters, Blackmon Gross; brother George; sisters Toura and Doris; and grandson Clifford Michael Blackmon Townsend.

Memorial service at 1pm on Monday 5/23/11 at Mount of Olives Lutheran Church, Mission Viejo. Reception to follow.
