Pauline Lawrence "Paula" passed away peacefully in her sleep early Christmas morning, at the age of 95.  Our lord wanted her to come home on this special day to give out her famous hugs to everyone in heaven.

Paula was born in Funk, Nebraska on June 21, 1921 and grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. Paula is preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Thomas, her brother Russell Lindgren, her husband Warren and her eldest son Craig. Paula leaves behind her son Mark Lawrence and grandson Travis Lawrence, her son Jeff Lawrence and his wife Cheri Lawrence and granddaughter Christine Lawrence.

Paula met Warren Lawrence on the Aragon Ballroom dance floor in Chicago, fell in love and married December 5, 1945 in St. Petersburg, Florida. With Warren still going to college, Paula and Warren moved west to California, initially to Santa Monica, then Seal Beach and eventually to Anaheim where they started their family with Craig and Jeff. Paula became a housewife, a Mother, and a friend to all she met. She enjoyed playing her piano, along with a variety of arts and craft projects. Yearly tent camping at Big Sur was always a joy for her to spend time with her family and enjoying the outdoors. Life was in the details for Paula—- she loved everything. Paula always had a "can do" attitude accomplishing many tasks and left this attitude with all of her sons. Still with AT&T, Warren and family were transferred to Walnut Creek in 1963 where they had their third son, Mark. Paula and Warren had a full life raising their three sons in Walnut Creek. She continued her passion for arts and crafts, homemaking, cooking and baking her famous Swedish Coffee bread for everyone!

After Warren retired, Paula and Warren moved back down to Southern California to Mission Viejo. They brought a sail boat and enjoyed sailing for many years—until they got the RV camping bug and traveled the country in their motor home. Paula continued her passion in music and purchased a variety of organs with her last one with all of the bells and whistles. She very much enjoyed the relationships with friends that also enjoyed her same passion in music with get togethers to play their organs. Paula was also passionate about church and established many friends at Church, Sunday school, and bible classes.

Paula engaged her outgoing personality with everyone— no matter where she met them. She truly cared about people and always provided a friendly hug and smile. Paula's personality touched all who met her. Paula will be missed dearly by her family and friends—along with the hugs and smiles she gave to her family and many friends.

She is now at peace in heaven with her husband Warren and son Craig. Paula will always be with us as we close our eyes and remember all of those wonderful memories each of us had with her.

A "Celebration of Paula's Life", memorial and reception for family and friends will be held on January 28th, at Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach, at 11:00 am.
