Paul W. Starr

Paul William Starr, 67, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA passed away on 4/26/2015 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was born on February 12, 1948 to Dr. Felix Starr and Dorothy Starr.

Paul grew up in Manhattan Beach, CA. Some of his fondest memories growing up were attending Gold Arrow Camp in the High Sierras as a young boy. Later he worked at the camp in the summers, forming many lifelong friends and eventually met his wife Jody in 1981. Paul loved construction and worked as a General Contractor for over 30 years. He also worked for United Airlines ramp services for 9 years winning Employee of the Year during his tenure.

Paul loved guns, winning so many combat shooting pistol matches he ran out of space for his trophies. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved to travel.

Paul is being laid to rest today at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest, CA. Paul built his life around his family and friends and his deep love, strength, and integrity will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of Paul’s passing, especially today….too late to pay our respects. Our family was especially close to Paul during those Gold Arrow days. We had some great trips up there to visit my brother, Gary Hoff and Paul and the rest of the staff/workers in between sessions of camp. He was a lot of fun and a really good guy.
    Our condolences for your loss.
