Obituary

Paul Joseph Vranes, age 52, of Laguna Niguel, California passed away December 25, 2009 at his home. Paul was extremely proud of his family and is survived by his loving wife Jeanne; daughters Jamie Vranes and Jessica Joe Patterson; sisters Cindy Kent Bendixen, Kathy Brad Attwood; and his three grandchildren, Ashton Paul, Kassidy Reid and Kennedy Rayne. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Loretta Vranes.

Paul graduated from Judge Memorial High School and attended the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. He worked as a project superintendent in commercial construction for 27 years. Paul wished to spend the rest of his life traveling through America in a motor home, even if he wasn’t the best driver. He had a tremendous love for sports especially football and his favorite team, Notre Dame. Paul also loved history, reading and anything to do with Space. Paul will be missed more than words can ever express by his family and friends.

Funeral Mass will be at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Mission Viejo.

  1. Jeanne, Jamie and Jessica, I am so truly sorry to hear about Paul/your Dad. My heart goes out to you all during this very hard time. I care about each of you and will keep you in my prayers.

  2. Dear Jeanne,
I signed Paul’s guestbook from the Salt Lake Tribune. My fondest memories of Paul are when he would tease you. You rarely let him get away with it. You are such a cute couple. I was widowed in 2006. I feel your hurt. I am so sorry. You and Paul were married a week or so after I married my kids dad, Mark McGill. I remember weekends at Bear Lake. My heart brakes for you. I will keep you in my prayers. You are a strong woman and such a beautiful testament to Paul as a life well lived.

God Bless and hold at this difficult time.

    Michelle Ctonin Stanga Jones
