Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Paul Travis Chewning, who left us too soon on June 20, 2026. Born on July 31, 1991, in California, Paul was a cherished son, devoted friend, and beloved member of his family. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Roberta, in 2022, and is survived by his devoted father, Hugh Chewning.

Paul's journey through life was marked by both challenges and extraordinary compassion. He experienced health difficulties beginning in his teenage years, which shaped his perspective and deepened his empathy for others. As a Behavioral Health Specialist working with autistic children, Paul dedicated himself to caring for and supporting those who needed patience, understanding, and encouragement. His loving heart and gentle nature made a lasting difference in the lives of the children and families he served.

Although he attended college briefly, Paul recognized that being close to his family was what mattered most and chose to return home. The bond he shared with his family was immeasurable, and he treasured the relationships that filled his life with love, laughter, and support. Friends, family, and neighbors remember Paul as a loving, cheerful, and genuinely caring person whose kindness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Paul embraced life with a curious mind and an open heart. He had an eclectic taste in music, enjoyed playing Xbox, and loved the excitement and camaraderie of lacrosse. He was endlessly interested in learning new things simply for the joy of expanding his knowledge, a quality that reflected his thoughtful and inquisitive spirit.

Paul's presence brought warmth, compassion, and light to those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, reminding us of the enduring power of kindness, curiosity, and human connection. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he shared and the lives he touched will never be forgotten.
