Patrick Lindley Moore
Patrick Moore passed away on Thursday morning, July 16th 2009. He was 19 years old. His death was caused by complications from Crohn's disease and a rare blood condition known as Hemophagocytic Syndrome HLH. Pat was part of the 2009 Gaucho swim team at Saddleback Community College where he was a freshman. He is the son of Saddleback College swimming instructor Mark Moore and Santa Ana USD elementary teacher Karen Blue. Pat lived near the beach and loved anything associated with water. Pat graduated from Dana Hills High School in 2008 where he lettered in both swimming and surfing. He had been a swimmer with the Mission Viejo Nadadores since the age of six, and went on to become a swim instructor and coach for that organization. Pat planned to major in architecture, and looked forward to traveling around the globe to catch the really great waves. His free spirit and winning smile will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his mom and dad, Pat is survived by his sister Katie; grandmother Lois; aunts Cathy and Vicki; uncles Jim, John, Garry, and Darrell; cousins Georgia, Emily, Craig, Mark, Tracy, and Grant. Neighborhood, school and surf friends celebrated Pat's life by having an ocean Paddle Out on the evening of Tuesday July 21st at Strands Point in Dana Point. In addition, Memorial Services will be held this Friday, July 24th at 3:00pm at Saddleback Church, 1 Saddleback Parkway in Lake Forest.
