  1. Patricia Mae Benson Andersen was ushered into heaven by her Lord on Saturday, May 12, 2018, 5:30 pm at the age of 82 in Laguna Niguel, CA with immediate family by her side. After a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease, she began experiencing the most acute symptoms around her 80th birthday.
On July 1, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN “Patty” was the only child born to Nora McCarthy and Rueben Benson. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from John Marshall High School in 1953. She maintained many of those friendship all her life, as well as those of her many cousins and extended family.
She loved to travel, and enjoyed trips with friends after high school, so much so that she became a stewardess for United Airlines in 1960. After a couple of years, she went to work for the Despatch Oven Company, where her secretarial skills earned her the nickname “Bullet Benson”. It was here that she met Jim Andersen, a sales manager recently widowed with 3 children under the age of 5. A marriage made in heaven? It certainly was! They were married on September 18, 1965, and Pat became an instant mom to Brett (2.5 yrs.), Craig (4 yrs.) and Renee (8 yrs.) She raised those children as her own, and no one every suspected that she was not their birth mother because of the striking resemblance God orchestrated between them.
Her most remarkable and endearing trait was her ability to always see the very best in everyone she met – she just couldn’t voice a condescending or judgemental remark about anyone. She loved deeply, prayed regularly, and lived in perpetual service to others without expecting anything in return. Her legacy will live on in those closest to her:
Husband of 53 years, Jim Andersen (Laguna Niguel, CA)
Eldest Daughter: Renee and Husband Dan Tresko (Escondido, CA)
Granddaughter Katherine Tresko Prout, Husband Douglas Prout (Hemet, CA)
Great Grandchildren: Landon (11 yrs), Rilynn (7 yrs)
Grandson: Jon Tresko and Wife Amanda (Brush Prairie, WA)
    Granddaughter: Anna Tresko (Portland, OR)
Middle Son: Craig Andersen and Wife Jill (Laguna Niguel, CA)
Grandson: Drew Andersen (Costa Mesa, CA)
Grandson: Mitch Andersen (Costa Mesa, CA)
Youngest Son: Brett Andersen (Long Beach, CA)
    Granddaughter: Courtney Andersen (Cleveland, OH)
