  1. We might wonder why God took Patricia home, but she doesn’t. She had pain here but has no pain where she is now. She struggled here but has no struggles there. She is at this very moment at peace in the presence of God, and now we can look forward to her greeting us when our own skies unfold.

God has given us a promise of comfort, and the gift of tears with which to express our tribute to the love we had for those who are no longer by our side. Let’s try not to say we’ve “lost” Patricia. When you lose something, you don’t know where it is or if you’ll ever see it again, and neither of those things are true for us, are they.

Rest well, my dear friend, until we meet again!

Subject: Memorial Service, celebrating the Life of Patricia Johnson, Friday, June 17 at 11 am, Mission Viejo Christian Church, 27192 Jeronimo Rd. MV 92692

On Friday, June 17, 11 am, there will be a Memorial Service for Patricia Johnson. She went into the arms of the Heavenly Father after a long battle with Junior Diabetes. She just celebrated her 50th High School Reunion a few months ago (was even on the Coordinating Committee, always volunterring her time.) Her Mom is Modene Johnson who attended MVCC for many years during the time that Pastor George McElroy was Sr. Pastor. Modene attended Young at Heart for quite some time after she left MVCC to attend another church. Patricia grew up in Orange County but for several years lived in North Hollywood. Patricia visited her Mom often, and whenever she was here on a Sunday; she would attend MVCC with her Mom. (Patricia’s home church was Church on the Way in Van Nuys…Pastor Jack Hayford, founding Pastor).

Many of you might have known Patricia, although she was very quiet when not working; and might have met her when she was with her Mom visiting MVCC. We were privileged to know Patricia in ministry and also as a friend for several years. Patricia owned her own Public Relations Firm and coordinated major gatherings and put leaders together regarding several key matters. One of Patricia’s anointings was to bring the Jewish communities together with Christians, and she was instrumental in MAJOR breakthroughs that came about through the Lord using her in such loving and committed ways. She worked tirelessly for many years in this effort, travelling throughout the United States and Israel in this behalf.

Patricia worked with Christian leaders and Jewish leaders, “key leaders”…Some of these leaders will be attending the Memorial on Friday at MVCC. Many of the leaders that she worked with, both Christian and Jewish have such key leadership roles in their spheres of influence, that their schedules are booked months/years in advance; and therefore many will not be able to attend on Friday; but several are rearranging their schedules to do so.

It is really important that our brothers and sisters are aware of the Memorial Friday because there are many that know Patricia and Modene by “face” but may not recall them by name. Would you let everyone that is on your email lists become aware of Friday’s Memorial? Would you also attend if at all possible? Many of you know Patricia by ministering with her in other venues or churches.

    Thank you so much!

    Rick and Pastor Gerri

I regret that I cannot get to California from Phoenix tomorrow to attend the memorial service, but I am with you in spirit. Patricia and I teamed up on several PR projects over the 20 plus years that I have had the privilege of knowing her. She was the consummate professional but even more important, she was salt and light in this world and a sweet aroma of the Lord’s love to all around her. Plus, we had a lot of fun. I will remember her joy especially. I am comforted in the knowledge that her joy is now complete — in the arms of her Savior — and I know that I will see Patricia again someday.

  5. Patricia inspired me with her love of God and dedication to serve. I will miss her dearly and regret that I won’t be able to attend the service due to a knee injury. May she rest in peace. Nonie Darwish
