Patricia Sue
Francis
July 27, 1930 – June 7, 2004
Patricia Sue ‘Pat’ Francis, 73, of San Clemente ascended on June 7th, 2004, from the Intensive Care Unit of Mission Community Hospital in Mission Viejo with her daughter, son, and two oldest grandchildren at her bedside to comfort her. Born in Provo, Utah, on July 27th, 1930, Pat was a friend to God, an avid and accomplished equestrian, voracious reader, and kind, generous, and gracious hostess. She was a loyal, efficient, and valued employee for several firms thoughout her lifetime. Her lifelong friends were cherished, many of which she met through her passion for golf while a member of Laguna Niguel Country Club in Laguna Niguel and Shorecliffs Country Club in San Clemente, where she resided for the past 40 years. She loved to swim, sunbathe and go barefoot, and spent many joyful hours at Shorecliffs’ Beach Club over the years. She had a keen sense of style and grace, and laughed easily and often. But first and foremost she was a devout, loving, selfless, and wonderful mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her dedication, generosity, example, and values will not be forgotten. We love you, mom. Born an only child, she is survived by her daughter and granddaughter Terri Sue Ursem and Sara Ursem of Indian Wells; granddaughters Christy Ursem of Newport Beach, Katie Ursem of Long Beach, and Caroline Ursem of San Luis Obispo; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Sharon Johnson and grandson Max Christian Johnson of Carlsbad; cousin the Reverend John Kerr and their prolific family of King of Prussia, PA; son and daughter-in-law John and Jan Francis of Auburndale, FL, their daughter, two sons and six grandchildren; her first husband Edgar Rutledge ‘Sparrow’ Johnson of Glendale, CA, and, of course, her beloved golden retriever ‘Maggie’. A memorial service is scheduled for June 27th at 6:00 p.m. at Shorecliffs’ Beach Club, located at PCH and Camino de Estrella in San Clemente.
