Obituary
Our beloved, Patricia Ann Usyk, age 81, of Mission Viejo, CA, Plantation, FL and Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on October 23, 2018 in Mission Viejo, CA. She was born to Thomas Francis Furlong and Catherine Veronica Furlong on April 27, 1937. Pat valued time with family and friends, the Catholic church, travel, reading and a life-long love of learning. She had a special bond with her grandchildren, who called her Grammy.
She is survived by her daughter, Kate and her son-in-law, Mike Forrester; son, John Usyk; brother, Dan Furlong; grandchildren, Shane and Nicole Forrester. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pat was preceded by her parents and by her beloved husband John Usyk, all to be reunited in heaven.
A Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 10:00am at San Francisco Solano Church, Mission Viejo, CA immediately followed by a reception. Another Catholic Mass will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 2:00pm at St. Gregory the Great Catholic church in Plantation, FL immediately followed by a reception.
Pat will be buried next to her husband, John, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven cemetery in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on November 3, 2018 at 10:00am.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure and she is loved beyond words.

I’m so happy Pat was able to enjoy her family over these last years. She worked so hard for other children, it was only fair our Father allowed her to be with her own babies.

My condolences to the family and all who loved Patricia. The seeming finality of death is what makes it especially difficult. But we can have confidence that God yearns to bring back to life the dead who are preserved in his memory. (Job 14:14,15) His Word, the Bible, gives us a wonderful hope of living in a paradise on earth and seeing the resurrection of our dead loved ones. (Luke 23:43; John 5:28,29) May this bring you some comfort during this difficult time.
