Obituary

Sevcsisin, Patricia Ann, 73, of Lake Forest, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2010, surrounded by her loving family after a brief battle with cancer. Known as ‘Pat Mulvaney’ in her formative years, she was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on March 4, 1937, where she attended Holy Family Academy and later worked for Morgan Guaranty in New York City. On Sept. 23, 1961, she married Michael J. Sevcsisin, Jr. at St. Andrew’s Parish, and together they had three children. Eventually they relocated to Southern California, where they spent the next 36 years building their life together. Married for more than 48 years, ‘Pat and Mike’ as they were known by all, were completely devoted to and loved each other dearly, so much so that Mike joined her in heaven, passing away only 24 hours after she died. Actively involved in numerous charitable organizations, as well as the Knights of Columbus as a ‘Lady Knight,’ she instilled in her children the belief in charity, along with a strong sense of morals and social responsibility. A vivacious, loving and devout Irish Catholic woman in life, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Michael Yvonne, and her daughters Lori Joseph Abbate, and Patti Andy Juric, as well as nine grandchildren, Ethan, Emily and Amanda Sevcsisin, and Crystal Dysthe; Michael and Kathleen Abbate; and Conor, Colby and Keely Juric. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Joseph LaBruno, Muriel George Gmitro, and a brother, William Elizabeth Mulvaney, as well as 16 nieces and nephews and numerous friends. A Rosary is to be held in her honor at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 13, at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 14, at Santiago de Compostela Catholic Church in Lake Forest. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Saddleback Valley, 23521 Paseo de Valencia, Laguna Hills, CA 92653.
