Obituary

Pankaj Pandya (June 3, 1952 – July 7, 2025) was a joyful soul whose boundless generosity and unconditional love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Although he grew up in Vadodora, Gujarat, he spent the greater portion of his life here in California. He is lovingly remembered by his son and his wife Suren and Shalvi, his granddaughter Prisha, and his dear brother Sudhir.

Pankaj’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love, kindness, and selflessness that he possessed. He gave without hesitation, loved without limits, and welcomed everyone with open arms, often with a hearty joke or a twinkle in his eye. His home, a warm and open place, was the heart of countless gatherings where friendships grew, and memories were made over the sounds of laughter, storytelling, and shared meals. Once you walked through his door, you were family—and you likely left with a full belly and a lighter heart.

Pankaj had a remarkable gift for making people smile, through his playful teasing, spontaneous dancing, and warm bear-hug embraces. However, behind his humor was a man who had a deep sense of loyalty. He showed up in quiet, steadfast ways  and was the one friends and family turned to for comfort, clarity, and unwavering support.

His spirit lives on in every burst of laughter, act of kindness, and gathering where love and light fill the room.
