Obituary

Orville Martin Danielson, passed away peacefully at his home in Mission Viejo, California on December 25, 2007.

He was born, at home, October 13, 1936, in Vang Hope Township, North Dakota, to the late Golda June and Martin Danielson. He attended Anderson Grade school, a one-room country schoolhouse and graduated from Walhalla High in 1956. Several years later, Orville moved to Los Angeles, California with his sister Ordelle and family. He was drafted into the U.S. Army, for two years, during the Vietnam War, and stationed in Germany.

Orville returned to California and worked in the automotive business until starting his own company, American Tool & Fixture in 1995. He has resided in Mission Viejo, with Sally for the past 25 years. Dan took great joy in his friends and family. He and Sally had a true partnership of independence. Their love and appreciation of each other grew and deepened over the years. He loved spending time with his daughter Shawn and family in Minden, Nevada and every summer a trip to Yosemite National Park. His hobby in semi-retirement was calling family and old friends all over the United States. He loved keeping in touch with loved ones, childhood friends and new acquaintances alike.

Throughout his life, Orville gave his time and talents generously and enthusiastically to his family, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Orville will always be remembered for his positive attitude and keeping in touch with all who knew him.

Orville is survived by Sally; their daughter Shawn and husband, Scott of Minden, Nevada; his fun, loving sister-in-law Sandy Hibbs; four grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Chelsea, and Christine; nieces and nephews, Bob Danielson, Marty Danielson, Jim Petersburg and Kent Rustad, Melanie Anhorn, Patricia Danielson, Nancy Wallus, Kim Kelly, Kari Rustad; and his dear special friend, sister-in-law Phyllis Danielson of Dilworth, Minnesota.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Fern Petersburg and Ordelle Rustad, and one brother, Merle Danielson.

Memorial services for Orville M. Danielson will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 19, at O’Connor Mortuary in Laguna Hills, California, followed by a Celebration of Life.

A memorial and burial services will be held at Vang Community Cemetery in early summer, with a date to be announced.

    Orville Danielson Family.
Sorry to hear about Orville’s passing. Having lived only a mile
from him while growing up on the farm at Vang, N. Dak. I knew him quite well. You have our sympathy.

  2. Sorry and shocked to find Orville passed away. He called me a couple of years ago and have thought of him often. Wished I could’ve visited with him more. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family. He was a dear person and will never be forgotten.
